After attendees entered the G.H. Mumm Winners Circle, they were presented with an empty, customized G.H. Mumm Champagne bottle. Attendees were then directed to stand in front of the live view monitor, where they could see themselves celebrating as if their horse had just won the Kentucky Derby. A countdown on the monitor provided attendees a starting point for their celebration. Once the countdown hit zero, attendees were then able to shake their champagne bottles and celebrate their victory. As they shook or moved the bottles, digital champagne would appear to be flying out of the bottles and onto the attendees.
Fans had fifteen seconds to celebrate and create their content which was then sent to the sharing tablets provided onsite. Attendees would walk over to the sharing tablets and share their celebration video to Facebook, Twitter, Email or SMS.

G.H. Mumm, the official champagne sponsor of the Kentucky Derby wanted a way to take users at Churchill Downs from the stands to the winner’s circle. This was the perfect event to take high-level concepts from our clients and turn them into real life realizations because here at Social Booth… we’re always dreaming!
We created a custom digital champagne spray experience allowing anyone to celebrate in style without actually getting champagne all over their Kentucky Derby attire. Using IR sensors and gesture technology, we tracked movement of special G.H. Mumm champagne bottles. We even had a second monitor displaying the fun from within the activation to peak others interest while they were walking by.
