ESPN CFP National Championship
At this year’s College Football National Championship, Social Booth was asked by ESPN and it’s partners to create a once in a lifetime experience for fans attending the CFP FanFest Zone. The activation, which honored the thousands of teachers across the country,
This year's activation consisted of a; 35’ school bus, which was split into two "fields" one for each team, two handcrafted 8’ TV stands in the shape of wooden pencils, which played client created content, as well as a free-hanging fabric halo. In true Social Booth fashion though, this was no ordinary school bus! We created custom windows with:
Servo motors that propelled the windows up and down mechanically.
Fans from both Alabama and Clemson were challenged to throw footballs through the moving windows in order to gain points for their respective team. As footballs broke the plane of the window, LED lights would illuminate indicating that a fan had successfully thrown the ball through the window. A large 80” scoreboard was mounted to the top of the bus which automatically tallied a point for each school based on completed passes. The scoreboard not only tallied each made throw, but also played a short video of both team's head coach as well as their team’s fight song!
